Bys dad: How I get my fitness in

As a 43-year-old dad, husband, and business owner, I know firsthand how tough it can be to squeeze in those workouts or runs. Just like you, my mornings get away from me, afternoon flys by and pick-up time is knocking on my office door.

What’s my secret to making sure my workouts and runs happen? It’s simple: I’ve learned to accept that not every workout will be perfect. I’ll be tired, my run might be shorter than planned, I may not hit a PR, or I might have to train hungry. Sometimes, I’ll need to wake up much earlier or squeeze in a session during my lunch break. But with two kids under 8, juggling drop-offs, pickups, and after-school activities, I know the only way to make it work is by accepting the idea that something is always better than nothing—even if it doesn’t go exactly as planned.

I’ve made this commitment to stay fit, keep building strength and injury resilience. It’s about keeping my body fit so I can tackle the duties of being a dad, husband, and business owner with more confidence.

What’s challenging you when it comes to staying fit? Is it time, motivation, or something else? Let me know—I’m here to help.
