Who is Tyler: During his years at the University of Oregon, Tyler worked with community members as a certified personal trainer as he obtained his Bachelor’s in Human Physiology. Tyler furthered his pursuit of optimizing human strength and movement by working towards a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Southern California. Tyler began coaching CrossFit while in physical therapy school. He is a believer that there is great opportunity for the marriage of the functional movements learned in the CrossFit gym and the prevention of injury. Tyler’s emphasis in coaching is to help everyone understand their full physical capabilities in an engaging and safe manner.

How Tyler practices: Looking for a physical therapist who understands your active lifestyle? Dr. Tyler Baca, DPT, uses strength and conditioning as a foundation to get you back to the activities you love the most! His practice revolves around developing strong movement patterns to assist healing and prevent future injuries.

What: Injuries can arise from jumping into too much too fast or going through movement patterns that we have not done since last summer. Our in house PHYSIO office offers Prehab sessions to address mobility and strength challenges that surround the upcoming summer activities. Take advantage of the opportunity to work with our physical therapy department to reduce the risk of injury in the upcoming season.

Maybe you are looking to take up long distance running or hiking this summer but have a history of wonky knee or low back pain. Maybe you are gearing up for golf or softball but you have a history of shoulder pain with rotational sports.

What We Offer: The Prehab appointment offers a chance to go over exercises that will strengthen muscles to support your individual sport. Additionally, your appointment may be a good fit following a big weekend of activity in order to massage, stretch, and lengthen the muscles that are primary movers in your specific sport or hobby. Physio appointment is for athletes who have experienced a re-injury or new injury and are looking to rehab through strengthening and conditioning, movement correction and stabilization and manual therapy.

CrossFit (Group Classes)

We offer 25 small group classes weekly. 23 of our classes are capped @ 8 members per session increasing the amount of coaching you will receive and giving ample space for social distancing. We offer outside workouts for those interested. A combination of strength, flexibly and cardio training will make up every class, with a central focus on good form before weight and intensity is increased. You can expect to be coached thoroughly through all movements, regardless of your experience level, each class. We strongly recommend including our nutritional program to increase your results.

On-ramp is an amazing program for those new to CrossFit or those needing a refresher in common movements used during class. On-ramp required for anyone without prior CrossFit experience.

Gutted (Cardio & Core)

Get your heart pumping, body sweating and core burning with our hour long class focus on shedding and shredding. Each class starts out 30 minutes of intense cardio and is followed up with a midline busting workout sure to get those abs burning.
